Невозможно установить пакеты Python с использованием pip

Could not install packages due to an EnvironmentError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/lib'

Я получаю эту ошибку при попытке установить какой-либо пакет, например, pip install requests

Я полностью переустановил Python 3 через Brew и не уверен, что еще можно попробовать. Я работаю в виртуальной среде, используя virtualenv.

In virtualenv 

 $ source bin/activate
 $ which python
/Users/matt.canty/virtualenv/sftp-upload/bin/python
 $ which pip
/Users/matt.canty/virtualenv/sftp-upload/bin/pip
 $ brew doctor
