Почему стек Herook-18 от Heroku совместим только с версией Puma 3.7.x?

Методом проб и ошибок я определил, что для обновления стека Heroku heroku-16 до стека heroku-18 потребуется обновить Puma в моем приложении Rails.

Ниже приведена ошибка создания собственных расширений для драгоценного камня пумы. Можете ли вы объяснить, почему эта ошибка возникает в версиях puma gem до v3.7?

Стек Heroku-16 основан на Ubuntu 16.04, который поставляется с OpenSSL 1.0.2, тогда как стек Heroku-18 основан на Ubuntu 18.04, который поставляется с OpenSSL 1.1. 0.

Между этими версиями OpenSSL произошли некоторые изменения API и поведения, которые часто требуют внесения некоторых изменений в программное обеспечение, использующее API OpenSSL напрямую (как это делает Puma).

В Puma 3.7.0 было изменение , чтобы сделать его совместимым с OpenSSL 1.1.0, что делает его первой версией, совместимой с этой версией.
