Android: слияние манифестов не удалось CoreComponentFactory

Ошибка слияния манифеста: Атрибут application @ appComponentFactory value = (android.support.v4.app.CoreComponentFactory) из [com.android.support:support-compat:28.0.0] AndroidManifest.xml: 22: 18-91

также присутствует в [androidx.core: core: 1.0.0] AndroidManifest.xml: 22: 18-86 value = (androidx.core.app.CoreComponentFactory).

Предложение: добавьте 'tools: replace = "android: appComponentFactory" "к элементу на AndroidManifest.xml: 6: 5-33: 19, чтобы переопределить.

Я также столкнулся с той же проблемой, и после небольшого поиска я нашел эту проблему здесь: https://github.com/JakeWharton/butterknife/issues/1429

Здесь создатель библиотеки предложил вам либо перейти на androidX, либо понизить версию библиотеки до совместимой. На данный момент я использую следующее: 

    implementation 'com.jakewharton:butterknife:8.8.0'
    annotationProcessor 'com.jakewharton:butterknife-compiler:8.8.0'
...
