Не удается установить PySocks MacOS 10.13 python 2.7.13

Question

Не могу установить PySocks на моем Mac. Python версия 2.7.13. Я использую pip install PySocks и получаю это сообщение:

Проблема была в старой версии pip. Пытался обновить pip через pip install --upgrade pip, но id не работает. Так нашел ответ здесь .

попытаться отключить проверку SSL-сертификата для сайта https://pypi.python.org/simple/pysocks/

или 404 не найдены или 403 запрещены на сайте
