Я загружаю и затем читаю файл json. этот json содержит список файлов и их адреса на сервере.

Все работает нормально, но я хочу получить размер всех файлов для загрузки.

но у меня возникли проблемы с установкой блока завершения, который бы указывал, что все завершено.

Я хотел бы получить сумму массива в конце, когда все будет сделано, сейчас print (self.sum) работает до и показывает 0.

Я не знаком с завершением и уверен, что все делаю неправильно.

Вам нужно DispatchGroup.

Перед вызовом внутренней асинхронной задачи enter в блоке завершения внутренней асинхронной задачи leave группа.
Наконец, когда группа notifies, позвоните completion

let group = DispatchGroup()

    group.enter()
