swift Avcapture сессия для сканирования штрих-кода не работает

Я пытаюсь построить сканер штрих-кода. Я адаптировал часть этого учебника . Сеанс захвата видео работает, но он не обнаруживает штрих-код. Я просмотрел код несколько раз и все еще не мог найти, в чем проблема. Вот мой код для определения штрих-кода

что мне не хватает?

может быть, вам не хватает методов делегата? В учебнике есть метод делегата: 

optional func metadataOutput(_ output: AVCaptureMetadataOutput, didOutput metadataObjects: [AVMetadataObject], from connection: AVCaptureConnection)

в разделе Расшифровка QR-кода
