У меня есть AppCompatActivity и некоторые фрагменты. Кнопка «Назад» на панели действий не работает в AboutFragment.
В действии нет завышенного меню, в то время как у фрагмента есть только кнопка «Назад» на панели действий.
Меню фрагмента видно, но кнопка назад не реагирует на нажатие.
При нажатии на значок информации на панели действий отображается AboutFragment.

При нажатии на значок i ниже работает метод ниже MainActivity.

тогда кнопка возврата внутри AboutFragment не вызывает onOptionsItemSelected() метод внутри фрагмента.
При отладке я вижу, что оба onCreateOptionsMenu() для фрагмента и действия вызываются, но при нажатии кнопок не вызывается onOptionsItemSelected(), ни из действия, ни из фрагмента.
Прошло два дня, я искал и гуглял, у меня ничего не получалось.
любая помощь будет оценена.
