Затем я сделал несколько быстрых настроек в /etc/memcached.conf (прикреплено в конце вопроса).Для записи я подключаюсь через сокет unix.Затем я попытался sudo service memcached restart запустить его.
Однако это не сработало.Затем я вручную создал каталог в /var/run с именем memcached и запустил chown memcache:root /var/run/memcached.
Тогда выполнение sudo service memcached restart было успешным.
Однако, если я сделаю sudo reboot и снова войду в систему после перезагрузки, файл носка (и папка с ним) будутушел.
