Я использовал это phpcs.xml.dist для проверки кода стандарта:

Я использую для этого команду: 

vendor/bin/phpcs --encoding=utf-8 --extensions=php backend --colors

Файл находится в корневом каталоге.Как я могу использовать его для проверки синтаксического анализа или синтаксических ошибок?Он показывает ошибку форматирования, строковую ошибку и другие правила, включенные в этот файл.

Я могу использовать эту команду для проверки ошибки разбора для одного файла: 

php -l backend/controllers/AdvertisementController.php

Я хочу проверитьвся папка для любых синтаксических ошибок или ошибок синтаксического анализа.

Для синтаксических ошибок есть PHP линтер.Вы можете вызвать его из PHPCS, добавив Generic.PHP.Syntax снифф в свой (пользовательский) набор правил.

Добавьте ниже в ваш phpcs.xml.dist. 

<rule ref="Generic.PHP.Syntax"/>
