На этой странице документации я обнаружил, что класс ActivityTestRule остается под androidx.test.rule в AndroidX.Для того, чтобы импортировать пакет, я просто добавил:

 androidTestImplementation 'androidx.test:rules:1.1.0'

к своему грейдеру.

Подводя итог, мой грид теперь содержит:
