Относится к отношениям в редактировании

Я сталкиваюсь с проблемой при редактировании формы с отношением принадлежащим к (extra_guest Proper_to age_table).

Я могу создать новый extra_guest и назначить его для age_table, но не могу заставить работать редактирование / обновление, так как моя функция обновления возвращает falseClass .--> @extra_guest.update(extra_guest_params).errors.full_messages возвращает undefined method `errors' for false:FalseClass

Я думаю, что вы показываете предвидеть ошибки: 

if @extra_guest.update(extra_guest_params)
  .. do something for success..
else
  do something for error 
  flash[:notice] = @extra_guest.errors.full_messages
end

Метод update возвращает true или false. Вы можете найти документы здесь . Для проверки ошибок необходимо вызвать метод errors для @extra_guest объекта. 

@extra_guest.update(extra_guest_params)
@extra_guest.errors.full_messages
...
