Если вы создаете пул, вам не нужно использовать getConnection. Существует ярлык, который позволяет использовать его напрямую. Если вы используете getConnection, вы должны следовать за ним с помощью запроса, тогда вы можете разорвать соединение. В вашем примере отсутствует запрос.
