Это на самом деле намного дольше. Я хочу вставить родительский тег <newline> каждый раз, когда между первым числом атрибута bbox и первым номером и следующим атрибутом bbox есть определенное расстояние. Я хочу, чтобы тег закрывался только тогда, когда есть необходимость открыть еще один. Все работает, но я не знаю, как обернуть эти текстовые элементы, так как я новичок в XSLT.

Как говорит @MartinHonnen в своем комментарии, классическое c решение этой проблемы - рекурсия брата или сестры.

Суть этой техники:

  • из родительский элемент textline, который вы применяете-шаблоны к первому дочернему элементу text: <xsl:apply-templates select="text[1]"/>

  • от дочернего элемента text, который вы применяете-шаблоны к следующему брату элемент: <xsl:apply-templates select="following-sibling::text[1]"/>
