Как выполнить параметры в циклах - Python?

Я новичок с Python, и я пытаюсь заставить свой код работать правильно, но я весь день гуглил и не могу найти исправление. Я надеюсь, что кто-нибудь сможет мне помочь. У меня есть код (см. Ниже), и когда я его запускаю, все идет хорошо, пока я не выберу опцию добавления транзакции. Как только я добавляю сумму транзакции и выбираю любое число (1-3), мой l oop заканчивается; чего не должно быть. Это должно привести меня к желаемому варианту.

def get_last_value():
    """extracting the last element of the blockchain list"""
    return(blockchain[-1])

def add_value(transaction_amount, last_transaction = [1]):
    blockchain.append([last_transaction, transaction_amount])

            valid = True

        index += 1
    return valid 

tx_amount = get_transaction_value()
add_value(tx_amount)

У вас проблема. В get_transaction_value () есть опечатка в написании "valid". 

if not verify_chain():

<ipython-input-2-358b629c0a68> in verify_chain()
     33             break
     34         index += 1
---> 35     return valid
     36 
     37 tx_amount = get_transaction_value()

NameError: name 'valid' is not defined
...
