Вертикальный JSeparator неправильно расположен GridBagLayout

Я пытаюсь создать окно с двумя панелями, ширина которых в соотношении 2: 1 (с левой панелью шире, чемсправа), и я использую GridBagLayout.

По сути, что-то похожее на это:

Вы должны были использовать GridBagConstraints.HORIZONTAL вместо GridBagConstraints.VERTICAL. Попробуйте это, и вы получите следующий результат (разделитель красный):
