Вы получите это сообщение об ошибке, если SureFire запустил GWTTest в качестве теста JUnit. Поскольку SureFire не знает, что делать с кодом GWT, вы получите эту ошибку.

Лучше всего сказать SureFire игнорировать все тесты с данным шаблоном. Я называю все мои тесты GWT «SomethingGwtTest.java». Таким образом, SureFire игнорирует их, а тестер GWT из gwt-maven-plugin подхватывает их и запускает правильно.
