Ошибка загрузки NPM и JSDOM

Знакомство с миром node.js. В основном только начинается. Я установил узел и получил некоторые вещи, работающие. Насколько я понимаю, мне нужно установить модуль jsdom, чтобы заставить работать jQuery. Поэтому я скачал и скомпилировал NPM, и когда я выполнил команду npm install jsdom, я получил массу ошибок. Вот распечатка:

Это явно не сработало.

  1. Нужен ли этот пакет для выполнения jQuery?
  2. Что я здесь не так делаю?

Checking for program g++ or c++          : not found

Вы не установили базовый материал, необходимый для компиляции. В Debian и Ubuntu это должно исправить: 

sudo apt-get install build-essential

Для других дистрибутивов команда несколько иная, но основной принцип тот же.
