Я использую следующий макет xml для своего настраиваемого адаптера.

    <ImageView
        android:id="@+id/imageView1"
        android:layout_width="wrap_content"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        android:layout_gravity="right"
        android:src="@drawable/ic_launcher" />


    <TextView
        android:id="@+id/textView2"
        android:layout_width="wrap_content"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        android:text="TextView" />

</LinearLayout>

Когда я раздуваю этот нестандартный макет (для просмотра списка), текстовое представление имеет большой разрыв из-за представления изображения. Я хочубыть в состоянии показать текстовое представление ниже друг друга и представление изображения справа.Как мне это сделать?

Используйте Relativelayout:

        android:layout_width="wrap_content"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        android:layout_toLeftOf="@id/imageView1" 
        android:layout_alignParentLeft="true"
        android:text="TextView" />



    <TextView
        android:id="@+id/textView2"
        android:layout_width="wrap_content"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        android:layout_below="@id/textView1"
        android:layout_toLeftOf="@id/imageView1"
