У меня есть файл core со встроенного устройства Linux SH3 и GDB среды кросс-компиляции (sh3-linux-GDB) в моем хосте Linux.

Но у меня проблемы с загрузкой файла ядра с помощью gdb: 

$ sh3-linux-gdb ./myprogram ./core

Почему он не может прочитать файл ядра? Есть ли способ прочитать основной файл из целевой системы в кросс-базе данных?

В целевой машине (SH3-linux) есть gdbserver, но нет самого gdb. Я могу выполнить отладку во время выполнения процессов целевой машины с gdbserver и sh3-linux-gdb, поэтому sh3-linux-gdb должен быть правильно скомпилирован.

 sh3-linux-gdb ./myprogram --core=./core

Это может быть ошибка в старом GDB http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=9542 - поэтому попробуйте более новый GDB (7).

Можете ли вы опубликовать вывод или readelf -a core?

Возможно отладить ваше приложение не напрямую с помощью GDB, а с помощью сервера GDB. Первое, что вам нужно сделать, это вызвать gdbserver в целевой системе (вы сказали в своем вопросе, что этот пакет уже установлен): 

gdbserver AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD:port ./myprogram

Предполагается, что целевой компьютер доступен по IP-адресу: AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD:port. Сделав это, вы можете вызвать gdb на своей машине разработки, указав целевой удаленный сервер: 

   % gdb ./myprogram
   % [...]
   (gdb) target remote AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD:port

Обратите внимание, что IP-адрес целевого удаленного сервера совпадает с адресом gdbserver.
