Вот обновление для шаблона Visual Studio 2012 T4 для создания простых объектов DTO на основе существующего файла EDMX. Он пропускает навигационные свойства и генерирует только простые свойства.
Использование AutoMapper Мне удалось скопировать мои данные POCO в объекты DTO.
Они сериализуемы и могут быть перенесены как XML. При перестройке объектов на целевом сайте можно прикрепить их к dbContext и вызвать DetectChanges ().
