Как совершать звонки с помощью GSM модема с помощью python

Я пытаюсь использовать gsmmodem-new на python для звонков с подключенного модема gsm. Модем подключен к последовательному порту 1 и скорость передачи установлена ​​на 115200. На SIM-карте не установлен PIN-код.

Я просто пытаюсь использовать пример, предоставленный разработчиками

но процесс застревает при попытке установить соединение с модемом. Кажется, что он не может подключиться к модему, чтобы перейти к следующим шагам.
