Проблема создания панели инструментов для пользовательской темы в представлении навигации?

Я впервые учусь реализовывать пользовательские темы для Android, я не очень понимаю мой код styles.xml. Я хочу установить тему во время выполнения в соответствии с выбором темы пользователем. Если я не включу Toolbar, я не знаю, как установить Toggle и принудительно NavigationView над ActionBar. Приложение не открывается и вылетает со следующим error:

setTheme(MyThemes(this).getMyThemeId()) // setTheme(R.style.MyLightTheme_Red)

Вы сами сказали, что устанавливаете тему на MyLightTheme_Red: 

<style name="MyLightTheme.Red">
    <item name="colorPrimary">@color/red_4_100</item>
    <item name="colorPrimaryDark">@color/red_6_100</item>
    <item name="colorAccent">@color/red_6_100</item>
</style>

Эта тема НЕ исключает панель инструментовтак как у него нет родителя.Просто добавьте 

<style name="MyLightTheme.Red" parent="NoActionBar">

И теперь он унаследует свойства "Нет панели инструментов" этого стиля.

Для AndroidX используйте эту тему в вашем res/values/styles.xml: 

<style name="MyLightTheme.NoActionBar" parent="Theme.MaterialComponents.Light.NoActionBar">
...
</style>

Добавьте эту тему к вашему AndroidManifest.xml: 

<activity
    android:name=".MainActivity"
    android:theme="@style/MyLightTheme.NoActionBar">

изменить свой стиль для NoActionBar с этим 

<style name="MyLightTheme.NoActionBar" parent="Theme.AppCompat.Light.NoActionBar">
...
</style>

и нет необходимости добавлять 

<item name="windowActionBar">false</item>
<item name="windowNoTitle">true</item>

и Manifest.xml

<activity
    android:name=".MainActivity"
    android:theme="@style/MyLightTheme.NoActionBar">
...
