При использовании ключей KMS для кодирования файлов рекомендуется генерировать симметричный ключ, кодировать полезную нагрузку с помощью симметричного ключа, кодировать симметричный ключ с помощью API-интерфейса KMS encrypt
и сохранять зашифрованный симметричный ключ в конверте как метаданные на S3 например.
