Я хочу, чтобы лента заголовков последних сообщений отображалась на боковой панели для всех трех языков, разделенных по языкам. Так, например, в разделе «Последние сообщения» на боковой панели будет «Английский», а затем последние 3 сообщения на английском, затем «Испанский» и последние 3 на испанском, а затем на французском. Все в виде списка в столбце и появляются на всех страницах с боковой панелью на всех языках.

Я использую самую последнюю версию Wordpress с плагином WPML.

Первое решение: Как вы уже упоминали в своем обновлении вопроса, вы можете раскошелиться на ядро! & изменить стандартный виджет последних сообщений WordPress. Здесь вы идете, заменив оригинальный widget() метод класса WP_Widget_Recent_Posts:

Но я не предпочитаю использовать такое решение, смена ядра не очень хорошая идея! Также это может быть плохой практикой по причинам переносимости, в то время как вы можете переписать виджеты WordPress!
