Редактировать суть с помощью ajax

Как мне обновить gist с помощью ajax? Я попробовал это:

Документация не дает четкого примера.

Возвращает JSON и статус OK 200, но суть не обновляется.

Если я использую метод для POST, это даст статус 404.
