NSPopover - это просто представление, которое вы можете отобразить в каком-то месте в другом представлении, поэтому вы можете показать его из обработчика действия кнопки.

Например, создайте все, что вы хотите поместить вpopover, например NSTextField , затем создайте NSViewController , достаточно большой, чтобы вместить его. Затем создайте NSPopover , установите его contentViewController для контроллера вида и покажите его через showRelativeToRect:ofView:preferredEdge: в нужном месте:
