Я настроил свой httpd.conf для исключения index.html из аутентификации.Он отлично работает для http://mydomain/index.html,, но http://mydomain все еще требует аутентификации, хотя index.html представлен через:

<IfModule dir_module>
    DirectoryIndex index.html
</IfModule>

Пожалуйста, помогите

вот мой httpd.conf:

#

# configuration, error, and log files are kept.

# mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation (available
# at <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/mpm_common.html#lockfile>);
# you will save yourself a lot of trouble.

### Section 2: 'Main' server configuration
#
# The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main'
# server, which responds to any requests that aren't handled by a
# <VirtualHost> definition. These values also provide defaults for
# any <VirtualHost> containers you may define later in the file.
#
# All of these directives may appear inside <VirtualHost> containers,
# in which case these default settings will be overridden for the
# virtual host being defined.

Решение было смехотворно простым.

в локальном файле .htaccess, который у меня уже был:

<Files ~ "(index.html)">
        Satisfy Any
        Order Deny,Allow
        Allow from all
</Files>

Мне просто нужно было добавить:

<Files ~ "">
        Satisfy Any
        Order Deny,Allow
        Allow from all
</Files>
