Я новичок в SQL и Hibernate, и мне нужна помощь со следующим:

Продукт сущности имеет (OneToMany) категорию сущностей, в которой есть некоторые опции (Список).Я хочу, чтобы при сохранении Продукта он был сохранен, если он еще не существует, в противном случае будет обновлен.Также при сохранении товара мне нужно сохранить категорию, если категория не существует.При удалении / обновлении Продукта Категория не должна быть удалена / обновлена.

Когда я пытался получить @GeneratedValue для идентификатора категории, при каждом запуске приложения продукты обновлялись, но категории вставлялись заново (с другим идентификатором, без удаления предыдущих).Затем я попробовал приведенный ниже код (с именем категории как @Id, поскольку я знаю, что имя уникально), но затем я получаю ошибки, которые вы видите.

Что я делаю неправильно?Я искал Google и stackoverflow, но не смог найти подходящее / достаточно простое решение.

У меня было это исключение для одного и того же поставщика базы данных. Виновником была эта строка:

@Column(nullable = false, unique = true)
private int fieldName = -1;

Таким образом, атрибут обязательной базы данных стал уникальным, когда входящие данные не удовлетворяет этому ограничению. В этом случае оно должно быть установлено на:

unique = false
